The Wallingford Local

When: last Wednesday of each month, May through September, 2023
Time: 5 to 6 PM
Where: Wallingford Farmers Market, Meridian Park

A special thanks to Joe Jeszeck who composed the show’s theme music!

Historic Wallingford is teaming up with Wallingford’s own Feliks Banel and community radio station SPACE 101.1 FM to do a once-a-month live radio broadcast at the neighborhood Farmers Market this summer. Many know Feliks from his popular live radio show and podcast Cascade of History or have heard him on KIRO Newsradio where he works full time. He reports Pacific Northwest history like the sports desk covers the hometown teams!

Called The Wallingford Local, the show features an eclectic assortment of guests including musicians, spoken-word artists, historians, business owners, and others. Farmers Market news and vendor spotlights are also featured. The sound and feel is local, organic, folksy and sometimes downright corny – but always in support of telling the stories of Wallingford past, present, and future in order to build and strengthen community.

The Wallingford Local is broadcast live on SPACE 101.1 FM, a people-powered, arts-focused community radio station, and available via livestream and podcast. It also is accessible in person to Farmers Market patrons. Stop by and say hello!
