Directly make a positive impact in your neighborhood! Historic Wallingford has several one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities.

Currently, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are interested in helping us further our mission by serving as a(n):

Event Planning Team Member

Help our FUN-draising team plan the first annual Roaring 20s Speakeasy Cocktails & Canapes event! Volunteer roles include but are not limited to collecting auction items, finding live entertainment, selecting decorations, creating marketing materials, and event promotion. Additional roles will be available on the day of the event.

Estimated volunteer time is 4 to 8 hours a month, including weekly or bimonthly team meetings leading up to the event on Sunday, September 8th.

Beautification Project Team Member

Join a team of creative and passionate community members to lead a neighborhood beautification project. Your input is needed as we strive to make Wallingford a clean and welcoming place for neighbors and visitors alike!

Current projects include utility box wrapping and replacing streetlight banners. Estimated volunteer time is 2 to 4 hours a month, including a monthly meeting, for the duration of the project.

Social Media Team Member

Put your social media skills to good use by helping us connect with our online communities on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Work collaboratively with our Social Media Manager to share unique content featuring stories and photos of the neighborhood, share neighborhood news via reposts, and promote the organization’s activities and supporters.

Tasks may include attending a monthly meeting, basic research, taking photos, and coordinating with project teams to promote ongoing activities. Training provided. Estimated volunteer time is 6 to 8 hours a month.

Online Store Manager

Manage our online store through Square, where we sell locally designed prints and yard signs. The store is poised for growth, and we are looking for a motivated and trustworthy individual to seek out opportunities to bring additional one-of-a-kind Wallingford-made items to market.

Regular tasks include managing a small inventory, fulfilling orders, coordinating merchandise pick up, and reporting sales to our treasurer. Training provided. Estimated volunteer time is 8 hours a month.

Community Ambassador

Get to know your community! Help build relationships between Historic Wallingford and other local organizations and businesses to establish partnerships for community projects, share news, and seek their input on key topics.

Tasks include attending monthly meetings, basic information gathering, occasionally visiting businesses, and communicating with community groups. This person would also hold a position on Historic Wallingford’s governing board. Estimated volunteer time is 4 to 6 hours a month.

Volunteer Manager

Show your passion for Wallingford by encouraging others to volunteer with us!

Tasks include recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers throughout the organization. Training and materials provided. Estimated volunteer time is 4 to 6 hours a month.

Board Director
