Join us on Friday, 5/18 with our very own Wallingford legend, Paul Dorpat, for an evening of reminiscing over old photographs of the neighborhood and its characters.
Paul is the author of many richly illustrated books including Seattle, Now & Then; Seattle Waterfront: An Illustrated History; and Washington, Then & Now; and has been writing the Now & Then column for the Pacific NW magazine for more than three decades. He is one of three founders of HistoryLink.org and, in 2001, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Pacific Northwest Historians Guild. Read his blog at pauldorpat.com.
Paul has requested that Historic Wallingford post dozens of images and animations from his collection that he plans to discuss for a collaborative presentation. He invites us all to participate in “captioning” the photos below for the event. Use captions in order to guess where or what the photos are actually about.
Use the photo carousel below to view some selected photos from Paul’s collection. Double click on any particular photo to go to a full screen view where you can then comment directly on each photo. You can move right or left in the carousel to move to the next photo. If you are unable to comment online, feel free to just bring your comments to the event itself.
See this page to view animations of Paul’s Wallingford Walks.
