Historic Wallingford proudly announces its schedule of activities for the Historic Homes Fair on Saturday, October 6 at the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N. Doors open at 9:30 AM!

Advance registration is strongly encouraged. Reserve your spot by registering below. Payment of cash or check will be requested at the door. The event is free to Historic Wallingford members.

This all-day event will make available architects, contractors, designers, and suppliers who can advise people on the care of old homes. The Exhibit Hall will showcase Wallingford firms and offer an ideal opportunity to ask questions of and get inspired by area experts in historic preservation, restoration, and renovation. Five lectures are scheduled, including a virtual tour of the variety of outstanding homes in the neighborhood; a discussion on the landmarking process, what it means for property owners, and financial incentive programs; a seminar on the Craftsman style of the early 20th century; and talks on energy efficiency and earthquake retrofitting.

A how-to workshop on researching your home’s history is scheduled four times throughout the day. A variety of experts will be on hand for short, one-on-one consultations on topics including building permit guidance, masonry construction, financing remodeling projects, to real estate. There will be a screening of the film Bungalow Heaven, about a neighborhood in Pasadena, California.

Advance registration is strongly recommended.  Payment will be collected at the event, and exact change or check is appreciated! Current 2018 members can make a free members-only reservation.
